Picked up this 1855 today and just got home an hour ago, tractor is still on the trailer till morning. got some goodies with it too:trink40:,a cab, a 48" 2 stage provost snow blower, a heavy duty 48" tiller, a rear blade ,tire chains, and I also dragged home a wisconson VG4D engine, had to put a few miles on,but couldn't pass up this deal.

Tractor needs the carb cleaned, engine deloused of mouse nests and a good going over as it has been sitting for a while, the attachments look to be in fairly good condition, but I think they spent more time outside than they were actually used,oh well its time for some tlc:thThumbsU

ran into my first problem with it today, the shaft coupler from engine to rear pto is worn beyond repair.:banghead3 luckily enough I stripped a massey 1200 a few years ago and I saved the rear pto assembly off of it, hopefully it is in better shape than this one. gonna have to have a look for it this afternoon, just cant remember exactly where I put it.:bonk

WOW, I thought that looked like a MF. Who was making them at that time. It wasn't simplicity maybe hum........ wheelhorse?
it was built by Snapper, they also built tractors for MF as well, same thing ,just a differrent color of paint and decals on it.

I have the same blower for my MF1655. It don't take no s**t from no snowflakes. It's a bear.

I had the same cab, but had to take it off when I put the FEL on. Then I sold it! :banghead3:banghead3:banghead3:banghead3:banghead3

The tiller looks similar to my MF4850, but it has a rolled shroud and mine has a brake bent shroud.

If that is a 5' back blade, you're starting off with exactly the same set-up that I started out with when I bought my MF1655 used for $6500 in 1982. That is a great piece of equipment and tougher than nails. Mine has well over 2000 hours on it.

Good deal!!!

Snapper built the MF line up from 1977 to 1984 and carried on from there with their own badge until 1989.

the rear blade is only 48", only thing I'm missing is the mower deck. I got it all for $500:thThumbsU

Thanks for the kind words everyone

No ,no blood, he told me what he wanted for it , so I pulled out my wallet before he had a chance to change his mind and I paid the man.

I was happy, he was happy,a win win,he used his farm tractor with front end loader and helped me everything , while he was at it he asked if I was interested in an engine and showed me a little wisconsin VG4D,only 37 HP ,said it came out of a swather and was running 10 years ago, but locked up from sitting outside. he said if I wanted it ,I could load it on as well,or he was going to scrap it. :thThumbsU so I'll pull it apart and see how bad it is inside. I have no Idea what I will do with it if I do get running,I think it's a little too extreme for a Garden tractor, its a brute, wieghs over 400 pounds

as far as gt's go, this looks to be in the super gt category. I never knew snapper was making this type of machine. I got to tell ya, I like the little rer snappers but this just makes me rethink everything I thought I knew about snappers, just wow.
